The Global Procurement team is an integral engine to Micron’s growth, delivering outstanding total cost and supply chain resiliency through ground breaking predictive capabilities, risk analysis and a focus on sustainability and diversity.

As a Buyer, you will be the primary category point of contact for supplier interactions, performance management, and negotiations for the site.

In this role, you will work with internal and external partners to complete and drive site category strategies and projects related for continued sourcing success, which may include cost reduction initiatives, supply base optimization, and pricing/contract negotiation.

Through management of the category strategy, you will also be building positive relationships with internal collaborators, driving outstanding, cost, supply and resilience.

Key Responsibilities

Category Management & Strategic Sourcing

• Implement processes to supervise collaborator satisfaction with key suppliers.
• Analyze sourcing needs and make recommendations to collaborators for assigned categories.
• Identify local and regional supplier opportunities to assist with the category strategies
• Develop category strategies and validate strategies with Global and Regional Category Managers/s and internal partners.

Cost Management & Analysis

• Identify and evaluate category-specific savings opportunities
• Supervise and carry out the implementation of sourcing strategies

Negotiation

• Lead or participate in regional negotiations for handled categories
• Lead regional sourcing events/RFQ process and provide inputs for category management plans
• Incorporate savings targets and contract requirements into negotiations
• Conduct strategic sourcing initiatives, negotiations, and cost management using supplier and industry analysis.

Business Partnering

• Collaborate with Stakeholders to deliver Strategic Solutions
• Develop and maintain expertise in the assigned spend categories through relationships with key stakeholders
• Drive customer-centric approach to solving issues and representing Procurement
• Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships to enhance cost-effectiveness, supply chain efficiency, and resilience.

Requirements:

• Master in Industrial System Engineering
• Proficient in data analytical tools (such as Tableau, Power BI, Python, Robotic Process Automation) will be an added advantage.
• Proven experience in Semiconductor wafer fabrication frontend materials procurement
• Strong communication skills and the ability to be a persuasive advocate
• Ability to manage relationships with various individuals involved and effectively drive business needs
• Self-motivated and driven individual who is comfortable working in a global, fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Responsible for obtaining materials, components, equipment, and services. Performs cost analysis and volume planning for major commodities. Acquires and maintains technical understanding of products purchased. Coordinates purchasing activities with manufacturing and engineering departments to maintain inventory at planned levels. As required, monitors the cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value. May recommend cost saving proposals including make vs. buy analysis, alternative sourcing, and vendor evaluation criteria.
