JOB DESCRIPTION:
Department: Human Resource Operations

POSITION PROFILE:
Employee Engagement - develop and implement initiatives that foster a positive workplace culture, enhance employee satisfaction and improve overall organization performance.
The Compliance and Industrial Relations - ensure the organization adheres to legal standards and internal policies while managing relationships with employee representatives and unions. This role plays a critical part in mitigating risk, fostering a compliance workplace and maintaining harmonious industrial relations.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Employee Engagement
- Design and execute employee engagement programs aligned with company goals and values.
- Conduct regular employee surveys, analyze data and delivery insights to leadership.
- Plan & coordinate events and internal communications to enhance culture and connection.
- Collaborate with managers and leadership teams to improve employee experience and retention.
- Develop strategies to support employee feedback, well-being and inclusion.
- Monitor engagement metrics and track the effectiveness of initiatives.
Compliance and Industrial Relations
- Monitor, interpret and implement local laws and regulations related to employment, labor and organizational compliance.
- Conduct audits and risk assessments to ensure company policies and procedures align with legal requirements.
- Develop and deliver training programs to employee on compliance-related topics.
- Investigate compliance breaches and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare reports and documentation for regulatory bodies as required.
- Serve as a liaison between management and employee representatives/unions.
- Provide advice and support on workplace disputes, grievances and disciplinary matters.
- Assist in the negotiation and implementation of collective bargaining.
- Stay updated on changes in industrial laws and advise leadership on implications.
- Promote positive employee relations and foster a collaborative working environment.
Ability/Competency required:
- Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in law, Human Resources, Industrial Relations, social science or related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in employee engagement, compliance or industrial relations role
- Strong understanding of labor laws, regulations and communication skills.
- Experience dealing with unions and employee representatives preferred.
- Excellent negotiation, conflict resolution and communication skills.
- Experience dealing with unions and employee representatives.
- Knowledge of D&I (Diversity & Inclusion) practices.
