Kitchen Helper

Location: Food Exchange , Admirality
Reports To: Head Chef / Kitchen Manager

Job Summary:
The Kitchen Helper supports the kitchen team by performing basic food preparation tasks, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring a smooth workflow in the kitchen. They help chefs and cooks by organizing ingredients, cleaning utensils, and assisting with simple cooking duties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Wash, peel, and chop vegetables and fruits.
• Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas.
• Assist chefs with basic food preparation.
• Receive and store food supplies properly.
• Dispose of trash and maintain sanitation standards.
• Ensure all food items are properly stored and labeled.
• Follow all safety and hygiene procedures.
• Assist with dishwashing when needed.

Requirements:

• No formal education required; high school diploma is a plus.
• Prior kitchen or food service experience is an advantage.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic understanding of food safety practices.
• Physically fit to stand for long hours and lift heavy items.

Work Environment:

• Busy kitchen setting
• May require standing for extended periods
• Includes weekends, evenings, and holiday shifts
