This is a lead QS/Project Controls role, you will be responsible for managing the scope listed with the existing QS team. Reporting to the on site manager.
Experience in major construction projects is essential, with a CSA background preffered.
Key Responsibilities for the QS team:
o Manage the project budget scope from project start up through to final closeout.
§ Set up project cost report.
§ Cost report will track -
· Project budget.
· PO/Contractor.
· Spends forecast.
· GR/Cash flow.
· Commit versus actual cost.
§ Issue report monthly to client.
o Monitor construction schedule for all work packages together with construction PM’s.
§ Highlight any schedule and/or budget issues.
§ Work with GC and client on mitigation plans.
o Claims
§ Validate all commercial claims together with scope input from project technical team and project management.
§ Once approved by project team, request final approval from client procurement.
§ Ensure timely submission of all documentation with regard to progress claims.
o Invoicing
§ Ensure all invoices are submitted in a timely manner to meet client GR/CF plan.
§ Closely manage all contractors for invoice submission to meet GR.
§ Follow up with client finance team if any issues with invoices/payment.
o Goods Received(GR)
§ Manage GR forecast.
§ Update monthly/quarterly plans.
§ Monitor GR P2P.
o Cash flow(CF)
§ Manage CF forecast.
§ Update monthly/quarterly plans.
§ Monitor CF P2P.
o Out of Balance (OOB)
§ Monitor GR/CF to ensure no OOB.
§ Update weekly.
o Change/Variation Order
§ Manage all change via client change management processes -
· CMOC
· CER
· SCR
· VO
· RFP
· CRI
· Ensure that no works are carried out without fully approved VO & PO.
o Funding requests
o PO requests.
o Savings
o Close out
o Provide finance with the monthly updates on project accruals and capitalisations.
o Issue the following weekly reports –
§ Commercial report.
§ VO log.
§ CO log.
o Set up and maintain projects in FMS.
o Closely monitor all VO correspondence between client and GC PM’s to ensure timely response to meet construction schedule.
o Prepare benchmarking data for client as requested.
o Weekly meeting with GC commercial team.
o Internal weekly commercial meeting.
o Change management/schedule progress daily meeting.
o GC weekly construction update meeting.
o Continuous improvement and lessons learned throughout the project life cycle.
o Ensure client policies are being followed.
