Job Description
The Pricing Analyst (APAC & G. China) will play a key role in optimizing pricing strategies, managing data and analytics, and driving insights that shape Agilent's pricing approach across APAC & G. China regions. This role combines data management, analytical rigor, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure pricing decisions align with evolving market conditions and strategic business objectives.
The Pricing Analyst will support initiatives like the discounting projects and facilitate the deployment of discounting guidance to enable disciplined and effective pricing practices.
Key responsibilities
Pricing data management and analytics
- Collect, clean, and maintain data sets, including pricing performance data, market and competitive data, and other customer and transaction data, to inform and support decision-making
- Leverage relevant data sets to analyze pricing performance and identify actionable insights
- Develop models to support pricing strategy formulation and decision making
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy to enhance model usability
- Ability to use programming languages such as SQL or Python will be a plus
Maintenance and enhancement of net price guidance engine
- Maintain and continue to refine algorithm and model for net price guidance, e.g., fine tune levels of existing adjusters, test and add in new adjusters, evolve current algorithm to support more complicated business logic
- Continuously refine and test predictive models to improve their accuracy and scalability
- Leverage other advanced statistical techniques (e.g., regression analysis, time-series forecasting) to support future pricing model or algorithm needs
KPI tracking and dashboard visualization
- Track and report on critical pricing metrics, ensuring key stakeholders have visibility into pricing performance and its impact
- Partner with commercial analytics team to develop and maintain pricing performance dashboards
Strategic pricing partner
- Provide pricing analytics and insights to support strategic decision making for other teams, including Sales, Sales Enablement, Product Marketing, and Finance
- Report and translate complex data and statistical concepts into actionable insights for leadership and other relevant stakeholders
- Support implementation and change management for any new pricing models, tools, dashboards, policies, etc.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field
- 4+ years of experience in pricing analytics, data science, or a related field
- Proficiency in SQL or other language for data manipulation and analysis
- Strong knowledge of data analysis tools like Python for statistical modeling
- Experience creating, cleaning, and maintaining large data sets for strategic use
- Familiarity with advanced statistical techniques, including regression analysis, predictive modeling, and time-series forecasting
- Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Qlik
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive outcomes
- Experience in pricing or financial analysis within a corporate or consulting environment
