- Welcome to Micron Technology, Inc! As a Principal Data Science Engineer in Micron’s Technology Development group in Singapore (F10), you will be responsible for developing new data science applications to address RAM (RDA and Metrology) problem statements, analyzing the results from large metrology and RDA data sets, and implementing groundbreaking DS solutions into our R&D pilot line manufacturing environment! The position will be passionate about leveraging data science, machine learning, computer vision, and AI techniques to solve complex problems in a technology development pilot line for advanced NAND Flash memory process nodes.
In this role, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Collaborate with highly experienced engineers, data scientists, data engineers, domain experts to develop well-defined problem statements to high-impact problems
- Develop sophisticated algorithms, automated processes, and software using large datasets from multiple disparate sources.
- Collaborate with peers globally to establish Best Known Methods (BKMs) for standards, efficiency, and deployment.
- Use in-depth data science expertise to influence the data science lifecycle.
- Develop and deploy end-to-end data science solutions from idea generation phase, PoC development to full productization.
- Drive actions and business impact through effective data presentation and data story telling
What Sets You Apart (required skills, expertise, knowledge, and experience):
- Expert in Machine Learning libraries and in working with high dimensional, skewed, and frequently changing datasets.
- Hands on experience in application of data science, machine learning, deep learning, computer vision methods and techniques to semiconductor industry problems.
- Strong understanding and application of statistics to perform exploratory data analysis and Machine Learning/Deep Learning algorithms
- Proficient in Python, PySpark, and in implementing data extraction from variety of data sources (Cloud-based Systems, Hadoop, Oracle, MS SQL)
- Ability to define and coordinate projects across multiple departments globally
- Experience in statistical modeling and feature extraction
- Strong computer skills, including MS Office, JMP, and programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, C, C++.
- 2+ years’ experience in semiconductor industry metrology or RDA with focus on CDSEM, Optical Films Metrology, SEM inspection, Brightfield inspection or overlay/registration.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes (Deposition, Etch, Lithography, Diffusion) and memory device process flows (3D NAND or DRAM).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work as an individual contributor on projects or in collaboration with a team.
- Capable of international travel of up to 3-6 months.
Education and Experience:
Master’s or PhD majoring in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Physics, combined with at least 5 years of acquired proven semiconductor industry experience.
