Value Stream Leader
PURPOSE OF JOB
The production planner is responsible for production planning of
Finished goods and sub-assemblies and managing the FG stock level at desired
optimal level at the Merit Distribution Centers (DC) so as meet customer orders
and its fluctuation. The primary function of the planner is to balance demand and supply at
the aggregate volume level with that at the detail mix level.
To achieve Operations & Service Level
Metrics on optimize inventory for sub-assemblies and finished goods and backorder.
JOB FUNCTION
- Handle finished goods and subassemblies order processing from oracle system via ASCP
workbench
- Perform FG and Subassemblies scheduling to production per the Master Schedule Plan to
meet customer demand at Merit DCs and direct customer via Customer Service
- Manage internal order requisitions from DC via ASCP (Advance supply chain planning)
workbench weekly
- Optimize the DC FG stock level by assessing the region supply, demand and forecast via
Oracle weekly
- Work with customer service on internal orders fluctuation for FG orders that are not
forecasted
- Work closely with Planning assistants and Planning section leader on Plant Sale and
Operations Plan (S&OP) with regards to customer orders and FG stock
building
- Perform FG allocations timely for the regions in oracle upon sterilization load
released
- Perform monthly review on FG stock level & expiration. To raise for scrap for stock
that has expired before end of the month
- Handle regions customer service queries timely
- Maintain and update planning parameters if change is required
- Prepare key performance indicators dashboard like backorder, DC FG inventory report for
management review
- Review and amend relevant department procedure and work procedures to reflect current
practices
- Participate in continuous improvement activities with related to Merit Business Excellence (MBES) with cross functional teams (Tech Team)
- Assist department head in addressing day-to-day operation issues, be responsible for
and participate in the people development activities of associate
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by complying with all related safety
regulations and environmental policies in the Company
- Support the creation of a Loss Prevention Program me and culture that ensures all
hazards/risks within the job holder’s area of responsibilities are identified
& assessed and controlled through the positive use of engineering, process,
material and people oriented programs to
protect employees, third parties and property that may be affected by the job
holder’s actions or those under his/her control, by eliminating / minimizing
the risks to an acceptable level
- Exercise personal due diligence in managing, as part of the normal business process, all
appropriate moral, legal and commercial aspects of safety, health, property
conservation and environment, that are within the job holder’s normal span of
control, to ensure that all loss prevention policies, procedures &
practices, prescribed by the company or local Statues are implemented as
required, monitored for compliance and enforced
INTERACTION
- With plant associates, partners, logistic representatives from distribution centers
and regions associates.
- Inter-departmental (Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Purchasing, Warehouse, etc.)
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Bachelor or Diploma (planning and logistic related experience)
- Minimum 3 years of production scheduling and distribution logistics experience in
manufacturing environment
- Computer literacy (MS Words/Excel/Access; QAD; SAP)
- Excellent planning and logistics skills
- Extensive working experience with Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) using ORACLE or
SAP
- Good communication and inter-personal skills
- Customer-conscious and customer focus are an added advantage
