Senior SCM Projects Engineer

Role:

The Senior SCM Projects Engineer is responsible for the coordination and communication to stakeholders, ensuring alignment and projects reach success. He/She is responsible to lead SCM projects before/after M300. Prior to the kick-off of the project, he/she will be required to align the expected objectives with the management team. He/she will be required to draft the timeline, scope, and work packages before engaging required stakeholders during the kick-off meeting. During the project, communication channels will be set up through regular meetings for tracking project progress and updating the management team until project completion. Having an overview of the project, he/she is responsible to resolve roadblocks with the team and when a decision is required, to escalate issues for management attention with proposals. In each course of the project, he/she will need to ensure each process owner handshakes to the next task seamlessly and all stakeholders are completing required tasks within the stipulated timeline. He/she will summarize the activities and feedback the relevant findings/outcomes. At the key milestones of projects, he/she is required to coordinate the stakeholder view and manufacturing strategy for SCM and to summarize all information. During which, he/she is responsible to clarify all open points and provide clarity for management review. After projects are executed, he/she is required to organize “Lesson Learnt” as part of continuous improvement. Lesson learnt requires investigation of both positive and negative areas of projects, and driving the team for actions to be implemented for next projects. The incumbent is also involved in reviewing project processes and is actively engaging in discussions to align globally within SCM. He/she will gather the required information and review it with relevant local stakeholders for required changes/improvements and feedback to the global team. After the review has been successfully agreed with all stakeholders, the described processes will be updated in Process house. Supporting the improvement of SCM processes, he/she will draft the required policies and flows to be executed after alignment.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate project activities within SCM
• Coordination of pre-series & prototype build
• Communicate SAP business requirements and ensure timely set-up
• Escalate bottlenecks with proposals for management attention
• Act as the voice for SCM in PAG meetings
• Communicate and facilitate discussions
• Clarify points of uncertainty and provide transparency on statements
• Regular communication and alignment of NPI processes
• Organize review sessions and understand local set-up limitations before counter proposal to the global team
• Understand existing processes & working norms in SCM
• Identify gaps & opportunities for improvements within SCM activities
• Formulate, propose & align stakeholders to new policies/standards
• Facilitate make-buy discussions between NPI & procurement team using standardised flow and breakdown of BOM levels
• Participate & drive best total cost efficiency with end-to-end view without compromising quality
• Involve right stakeholders to provide critical information for decision making
• Facilitate departments within SCM to induce stakeholder buy-in and decisions for multi-department activities

Requirements:

• Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Engineering with min. 3 years of working experience in manufacturing or automation industry
• Possess the ability to interface with different departments and stakeholders
• Possess critical thinking & analytical skills
• Possess good interpersonal skills
• Able to summarize information efficiently
