Responsibilities:
- Develop technical drawings, including foundations, steel frames, and various types of steel structures/reinforcements, in both 2D and 3D design environments.
- Work in a 3D design modeling environment, collaborating closely with other engineering team members.
- Perform steel structure calculations manually and using simulation software such as ANSYS.
- Provide miscellaneous technical support during the construction process of marine/offshore vessels.
- Ensure compliance with marine classification society regulations and steel design codes.
- Coordinate with stakeholders such as vendors, regulatory bodies, customer representatives, and production teams, which may include shipboard visits.
- Prepare all engineering documentation required by certifying authorities and production departments to ensure timely execution of project activities.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary tasks and subcontractor activities.
- Review and assess design deliverables from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Perform and verify engineering designs and calculations.
- Ensure all design deliverables fully comply with contractual specifications.
- Represent the engineering department in technical meetings and discussions with clients.
- Participate in the testing of engineering equipment, representing the engineering department.
- Serve as Discipline Lead Engineer (DLE) when assigned, providing technical guidance and support to engineers on the project team.
- Promote and ensure personnel safety through adherence to Occupational Safety, Health, and Environmental regulations.
- Ensure Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) procedures are followed, and provide guidance to employees to maintain compliance.
- Participate in the preparation of safe work practices, environmental control procedures, and emergency response plans.
- Ensure full compliance with all Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) plans.
- Perform any other related tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or other related technical disciplines.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the Marine and/or Offshore industry.
- Comprehensive understanding of a wide range of engineering practices related to Marine and Offshore vessels.
- Strong familiarity with the rules and regulations of leading Classification Societies and Regulatory Authorities.
- Solid knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of Ship Repair, Major Offshore projects, and Conversion projects.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
