10/10 gym. I recommend JK (Jun Keat) if you are a beginner like me, who only knows how to use treadmills but wants to incorporate weight training into your routine with guidance from a personal trainer. He’s the perfect trainer who will support you 100% throughout your fitness journey. He planned workout routines tailored to my fitness goals. He paid attention to my posture during heavy lifting and made sure my form was correct. Also, whenever I had any questions or wanted to learn new exercises, he was always willing to teach me more. Couldn’t have asked for a better trainer as a beginner, and I am so thankful for the 3 months of training I had with him!

Great gym with top-notch equipment and friendly staff, especially their personal trainers. I had the pleasure of training with JK (JunKeat) for the past 6 months, and I can confidently say that he is extremely good at what he does. JK was my first PT, and I was quite nervous as I was basically a newbie to the gym. From the very first session, it was clear that JK is not just a trainer but a dedicated coach who genuinely cares about his clients' progress and well-being. He tailors each workout to suit my individual goals and abilities. His enthusiasm for fitness is infectious, making each session enjoyable and rewarding. Beyond the workouts, JK provides invaluable guidance on nutrition and lifestyle choices, ensuring that I make positive changes outside of the gym as well. He is always available to answer questions, provide feedback, and offer encouragement, creating a supportive environment that fosters growth and progress. If you're looking for a personal trainer who is passionate, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in your success, I highly recommend JK. He has not only transformed my fitness journey but also inspired me to live a healthier and more active life. He is super supportive and encouraging, too. I definitely recommend JK if you're looking to up your fitness game!

Leg day lovers will rejoice. It has 6 squat racks, machines for standing and seated calf raises, and a landmine attachment for landmine squats. There's also a long enough corridor for walking lunges. There is a wide selection of dumbbells. Machines are pretty standard for most gyms, though I don't use them much as I mainly do free weights.

Love the Canberra outlet! The place is clean and offers a variety of machines. The staff at this outlet were all very welcoming and friendly. Additionally, my personal trainer, Jannifer, is really experienced and plans great workout sessions, pushing me to greater heights!

Edited review: "Been here for nearly a year! Best outlet in my opinion! The staff here are super friendly; they never fail to greet and smile every time I enter or leave the gym. Not to mention the fresh equipment! The hair dryer in the changing room also aids me for events after the gym. Members here are friendly and considerate. Hands down the best! :)"

Here's an edited version of the review: I'm sharing my first-time PT experience with trainer JK (JunKeat) at this branch, which lasted about 4-6 months. From the beginning, I purposely sought out someone so I could learn two things: to do a muscle-up and to learn proper form on as many exercises as possible for effective training. I was quite used to the mentality of "no pain, no gain." That is to say, a good workout meant I had to tough it out through sheer strength. It didn't mean I completely forwent form; it simply meant it wasn't the foremost priority. I later learned that this meant I couldn't fully engage the target muscle because my unstable form would lead to me relying on other muscles when fatigued. That's why it was funny to me that when he saw my deadlifting form for the first time, he banned me from doing them until I could consistently apply the tips he gave me for Romanian deadlifts. I laugh about it in hindsight now, but that experience in turn gave me a solid foundation to progress in deadlifting. He seemed strict, at first—almost nitpicky about form. But once you get to know him, you'd find he's genuinely concerned about your safety, and the better you integrate his tips, the less he'd need to remind you. He coordinates my workout sets well and knows when I'm ready to push towards heavier weights. He's also not stingy when it comes to answering your questions if you don't understand a concept. Just ask, bearing in mind the hour-long time slot PT sessions have. What I particularly value about him is that when I tell him a part of my body hurts during or after an exercise or doesn't feel right, he's usually spot-on with a solution. Whether it's identifying improper tension or squeezes during an exercise, addressing excessive force from one side of the body, or relieving knee tightness, he has insightful ways of solving these issues. I could go on and on, but here are my final results: 1. I learned a great deal about many exercises, as I wanted. My compound lift PRs doubled (granted, I wasn't lifting heavy to begin with due to my poor form), and I feel very confident and safe practicing deadlifting on my own in the future. 2. I couldn't do a muscle-up, but I went from a max of 3 bad-form pull-ups in one set to 10 good-form pull-ups across two sets on a good day. Unfortunately, that also meant I only started learning the basics of the muscle-up towards the end of my sessions as my back finally developed sufficient stamina for it. Was it perfect? No. I didn't achieve everything I wanted. But did I have a great time with him? Yes. I learned the necessary basics to feel more confident about the value of my training. He is exactly the hypervigilant whiny fusspot funny instructor I would send my future muscle-up success video to.

This gym is too crowded. Not a good place for working adults. It's mainly for teenagers and young people. It gives a very substandard vibe. Equipment is good, but due to lack of space, it's not kept in an organized manner. On the positive side, gym staff are quite friendly and helpful. So far, I haven't seen the usual hard-selling tactics from trainers. They keep themselves away from those. That's a great thing about this Gymmboxx. Perhaps it's the same across all the outlets.

The gym is often crowded, even at 7 AM, and equipment often has to be shared with others. Equipment is also quite rusty, especially the bars and weights. The smith machine bar always leaves a rusty smell on the hands. I wish they could renew some of this equipment, given that this outlet has been open for some time.
