I ordered fish fillet with rice at the Western food stall. Instead of a piece of fillet like the one pictured, I was served only four bites of fish. This is way too misleading and honestly a scam. I paid $9.90 for it, too. I will never eat at this Western food stall ever again!
My husband ordered fried fish soup for me here, and the auntie was so rude. I feel like people who come here to work, especially in F&B, should really learn the basics of English. They don't have to be smooth in the language.
Then she got angry at my husband because he couldn't understand Chinese (my husband is Malay). That we don't mind, actually. But when we ordered, we asked to separate the fish because it's fried and it would be soggy by the time we get home. But the auntie didn't. So my husband reminded her that he had requested to separate the fish. But the auntie scolded him for requesting so.
All I can say is: Auntie, I'm sorry my husband cannot speak Chinese, but don't scold him! We also never scolded you for not understanding English. Fried fish stall, I hope you have at least one English-speaking person to help her out.
We requested milk in the soup, but she didn't add any either. My husband was too lazy to ask again, fearing the auntie would scold him again.
I only had YTF here because it's just a typical YTF stall in food courts. The food was edible, and service was quick. Paying with the NTUC app entitles you to a 10% discount, making it quite affordable.
The one thing I cannot stand is that patrons are already doing their due diligence to self-return their trays, yet the cleaner auntie (the one with a hairband and apron) simply sits there like a Dua Pek Gong, using her phone, drinking kopi, and people-watching, seemingly not bothering to wipe tables that are either wet or dirtied by food. The other cleaner was okay and quite proactive, though she was busy clearing the self-return rack. Furthermore, she could take trays from the stall to re-wipe them on the table (as shown in the third picture), but couldn't wipe the crumbs or clean that specific table. She then moved to another, cleaner table to wipe the trays. I truly cannot understand.
Also, if you are having breakfast before 9 AM, be prepared to feel very warm in here. The plaza management only turns on the air conditioning from 9 AM onwards.
Here's the lightly edited review:
This food court, nestled right in the middle of Canberra Plaza (a heartland mall), is a haunt for reasonably priced, okay food when you don’t feel like paying extortionate prices.
I tried the Malay Chicken Rice store (HALAL). It was lovely, and the portion was quite big for my liking (and that’s good). Clearly, inflation has left this place untouched, and I trust I’ll be back.
The coffee stall runs a popular set of coffee, eggs, and toast, providing ample competition to the Yakun two storefronts down. Definitely try this place if you’re around here.
The portion at the ban mian stall was dismal. They charged us for extra meat, but gave us an appalling portion that was less than what you would get at typical ban mian stalls.

I think they changed their tartare sauce. It doesn't taste like McDonald's tartare sauce anymore; it's more like mayonnaise. It's not as nice—missing the pickle taste. But the fried fish or grilled chicken is generally still good, though the fries were soggy.

So far, I’ve tried their yong tau foo, which is pretty good as they can re-fry your items. I've also tried their Western dishes. Their fish and tartare sauce taste like McDonald's Filet-O-Fish.
