Pork cutlet fried rice was nice! They should change their plates to bigger ones, though, because it’s difficult to cut the pork cutlet without spilling the rice. We added a sunny side up, which came in a set with a drink.
I tried the fried rice with pork chops.
The fried rice is quite similar to Din Tai Fung’s egg fried rice.
The pork chops were not the same, but quite tender. However, I had to wait 15 minutes to get my fried rice during dinner time.
Way too oily. Witnessed how the cutlet was not fully cooked when being cut and then thrown back into the deep fryer. It was then taken out again without draining the oil and placed on the fried rice. At least maintain some standards, especially since you've just opened at Canberra Plaza.
Fried rice is fluffy but not great in taste, lacking wokhey. Chicken chop is better than Pork chop.
Expensive. It's extremely difficult to eat with the small plates. Unhelpful staff.
Here's the edited review:
So far, one of the best and wallet-friendly Egg Fried Rice around. Plain, Tom Yum, or Mala flavors are also good. My suggestion is to just stick to the Pork Chop; skip the chicken chop, crab meat, and ebiko. Luncheon meat is definitely a no-no. You can also opt for the top-up of a sunny-side-up egg and a drink.
Service-wise, there's definitely room for improvement. I recently used a complimentary sunny-side-up add-on, but it wasn't served, even though it wasn't very crowded. They have a numbering call system, but the staff prefers to shout out the numbers; I'm unsure why.
I don't appreciate being misled. I bought the kampung fried rice that cost $2 more, expecting a different taste from the egg fried rice. But it was exactly the same. The only difference is that it comes with ikan bilis, chili padi, and cabbage.
Ordered takeaway last weekend and found that they didn't give me my chicken chop. Went back the next day and they only offered me another chicken chop if I order from them again. Ridiculous.
I read online that they had a vegetarian option with egg and vegetables. I went there and asked the staff about it, and they said they could only do a plain fried rice with egg. It wasn't worth the price, so I declined to order. Also, the staff didn't seem to understand English or Chinese, so I wasn't sure how to communicate with her. I was extremely disappointed, as I feel fried rice is one of the easiest dishes to cater to vegetarians.
Not the usual standard of fried rice taste. Very oily, and hygiene is an issue here. The floor is oily, the counter is wet, and the staff are rude. This place needs to buck up on food quality and hygiene.
