Job Description

Job Summary

Perform comprehensive accounting functions including managing full sets of books, processing payments, and preparing financial reports to support statutory compliance and business operations. Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors to ensure accurate financial management and timely submissions. Generally assist HR in all administrative matters to support organizational operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full set of accounting books including payment vouchers, bank reconciliations, invoices, and journal voucher preparation and review to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Execute daily accounts payable functions such as cheque payments, GIRO, and bank transfers to maintain timely vendor payments.
  • Process staff claims and monthly petty cash reimbursements to support employee expense management.
  • Handle supplier and subcontractor invoice processing and manage outstanding balances to ensure prompt payments and maintain good vendor relationships.
  • Perform data entry for journal vouchers, payment vouchers, and receipts to maintain up-to-date accounting records.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly GST returns to comply with tax regulations.
  • Generate monthly creditor ageing reports for financial review and monitoring of payables.
  • Address and resolve queries from suppliers and subcontractors regarding outstanding invoices and payments to maintain transparency and accuracy.
  • Conduct administrative accounting duties including documentation, filing, record updates, and generation of internal financial reports to support operational efficiency.
  • Prepare documentation for annual tax returns and estimated chargeable income (ECI) submissions, liaising with external auditors to facilitate statutory audits.
  • Draft financial statements for companies undergoing statutory audits and for exempt companies to ensure compliance with reporting standards.
  • Support ad-hoc assignments as required to address emerging business needs.
  • Manage payroll functions to ensure accurate and timely employee compensation.
  • Coordinate and administer training and development programs, including submitting claims and training grants to government agencies to support workforce development.
  • Assist in human resource functions and administrative matters to support organizational operations.

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Ability to liaise effectively with Bilingual suppliers and subcontractors to facilitate communication and transaction processing.
  • Ability to commence work immediately or within short notice to meet organizational needs.
