Job Summary:
The incumbent is responsible for identifying and procuring direct and indirect materials for Quasar Medical including but not limited to identify external material needs of the organization, find services providers who can supply these goods, negotiate for prices and arrange for the purchase and delivery of the goods. The successful incumbent for this position requires experience in the manufacturing industry and a strong understanding of supply chain management concepts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Work closely with selected approved vendor (both internal & external vendors) to meet criteria such as pricing, quantity, quality and delivery date.
- Ensure all purchase requisitions are converted to PO in ERP system & follow up weekly on open order backlog report with suppliers for incoming shipment and past due.
- Support New Product Buy during development phase which involve some form of manual control buy.
- Follow up with suppliers on promise date response within 3 working days and timely update of promise date in system.
- Work on reschedule request for pull in/push out and cancellation.
- Work with Planning to meet Day of Supply to control inventory.
- Monthly compilation of Purchasing KPI E.g. (On time to delivery, Purchase Price Variance) and to meet KPI Target.
- Negotiate directly with vendors to get the best possible pricing and payment options.
- Cost management to identify areas of potential cost reduction and analyse the impact of pricing changes for goods and services.
- Resolve and co-ordinate any operational day to day issues with the suppliers, requests, buyers.
- Drive compliance in the work area in line with GDP, GMP and Quality requirements.
- Support for business initiatives as required, dealing with changes to work methods and processes in a positive manner, and striving to meet business goals and objectives.
- Assume other responsibilities as requested in support of departmental goals and objectives.
- Any other adhoc tasks assigned by superior.

Education/Experience and Qualifications:
- Diploma / Degree in Supply Chain or equivalent
- 5 to 10 years of experience in Purchasing in manufacturing environment is preferred
- Experience handling Materials Planning will be advantageous.
- Self-directed and detail oriented, inquisitive nature and the desire to solve problems with analytical thinking.
- Good organizational skills and experience with working as part of a team.
- Deep understanding and professional experience with Purchasing Contracts
- Excellent negotiation, strong verbal, written communication and follow up skills are required.
- Must be willingly to communicate with USA suppliers at night to expedite / follow up
- Knowledge of ERP system is preferred and must be able to use Excel.
- Knowledge of GMPs, ISO 9001/EN 46001, ISO13485 and the Medical Device Directives would be
preferred.
