Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Carpenter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience in building, installing, repairing, and finishing structures and fixtures made of wood and other materials. As a carpenter, you will work on a variety of construction projects including residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical plans.
- Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, fiberglass, drywall, and other materials.
- Install structures and fixtures, such as windows, frames, floorings, trim, doors, cabinetry, and drywall.
- Build frameworks including walls, floors, and doorframes.
- Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures.
- Use hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Work with other construction professionals such as electricians and plumbers.
- Ensure work is done according to specifications and building codes.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Job Requirements:
- Experience: 2+ years of proven carpentry experience preferred.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or apprenticeship is a plus.
- Skills:
Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read and interpret construction documents and blueprints.
Physical strength and stamina to lift heavy materials and work in various environments.
Attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality.
- Other: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required.
Work Environment:
- Work may be indoors or outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Physical labor including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- May involve working at heights or in confined spaces.
