Draftperson - Project

Job description:

The Draftsperson will integrate an experienced Team of Engineers / drafters specialised in Civil Engineering and bridge construction works. Within this team, the role will mainly be to produce CAD drawings for bridge construction site activities.

In addition, the role offers a large variety of tasks such as analysis / summarising of incoming drawings, construction preparation drawings (lifting plans, sequence drawings), detailing of steel structure.

Assignment

1. The Draftsperson is assigned to one of the project of VSL Singapore

2. The Draftsperson reports to the Technical Manager of the project

3. The Draftsperson is based in Singapore

Experience and skills requirements

• Good experience in AutoCAD design software required
• Knowledge in 3D design software is a plus (Inventor or Solidworks or equivalent)
• Good communication and team spirit
• Experienced in production of structural steel drawings
• Ability to understand sequence of construction
• English will be the common used language and the candidate needs to have an advanced level of English both written and oral
• Knowledge in Civil works (Bridges) will be a plus

Responsibilities

• Following Engineer instruction / guidelines to create various technical documents (drawings, models, kinematics / sequence of works, excel tables, etc.)
• Prepare sketches and detailed work with AutoCAD design software and / or Inventor
• Create, review and modify CAD drawings based on project requirements
• Understand the time frame (deadlines), monitor progress and inform on changes
• Manage her / his drafting work with regards to quality, schedule and man-hours spent.
• Identify, communicate, and seek advice from senior staff for potential design problems that she / he cannot solve on her / his own.
