Engineer, Application (Motion Control)

Job Description:

The Senior/Engineer, Application (Motion Control) works with clients and the sales team to develop, commission, and troubleshoot motion control systems distributed or developed by the company. He/she also contributes to the development/testing of R&D prototypes.

Job Responsibilities:

· Develop motion control solutions for customized applications to meet customers’ requirements and specifications.

· Provide on-site application support and troubleshooting for the motion controller, servo driver, brushless dc linear motors, encoders, and other motion control peripherals.

· System testing, evaluation, and commissioning of motion controlsystems.

· Propose and generate the bill of material (BOM), wiring diagrams, and cable drawings for motion systems.

· Perform product evaluation and performance benchmarking for motion control peripherals.

Provide product application training for customers when required.

People Requirements:

· Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical and or Electronic Engineering, or other relevant disciplines.

· Minimum one-year relevant working experience in automation or motion control industry.

· Ability to read and produce electrical wiring diagrams.

· Familiarity with power electronic drives and motors and actuators.

· Basic understanding in mechanical engineering principles (kinematics, dynamics), ability to read mechanical drawings.

· A solid foundation in classical and modern control systems principles, system identification, control system stability analysis, servo motor control, loop shaping and tuning, ability to interpret bode, Nyquist, Nichols diagrams.

· A good foundation programming languages and concepts (C#, C++, MATLAB, Python, LabVIEW –

variables, arrays, loops, conditional statements)

· Experience in ACS motion control platform is a plus.

· Hands-on experience with engineering tools (eg: oscilloscope, LCR meter, soldering tools)

Independent, agile, and self-motivated with good written and verbal communication skills.
