Main Duties of a Head Chef:
1. Menu Planning:
• Designs and updates the menu.
• Creates new dishes and ensures variety and quality.
2. Kitchen Management:
• Oversees all kitchen staff (chefs, cooks, assistants).
• Assigns tasks and manages daily kitchen operations.
3. Food Quality Control:
• Ensures all dishes are prepared to high standards.
• Tastes and checks presentation before serving.
4. Inventory & Ordering:
• Orders ingredients and kitchen supplies.
• Manages food storage and reduces waste.
5. Hygiene & Safety:
• Makes sure the kitchen follows health and safety regulations.
• Maintains cleanliness and proper food handling procedures.
6. Training & Supervision:
• Trains new kitchen staff.
• Helps team improve skills and maintain consistency.
7. Budget Control:
• Works with management to control food costs.
