Position: Head of Production
Reporting to the Directors, the Head of Production is responsible for leading all manufacturing operations across
our baked goods production facilities. The role will need to drive operational excellence, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and maintain strong collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage daily production operations ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance.
- Plan and control production schedules to ensure efficient workflow and in line with production goals and seasonal demand swings.
- Establish and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for food safety, hygiene, production efficiency, and quality assurance.
- Ensure all products comply with quality standards, food safety regulations, and legal requirements.
- Lead, supervise, train, and evaluate production supervisors and
production staff.
- Manage manpower planning, shift scheduling, attendance, and productivity.
- Manage operating budgets, control wastage, and reduce production costs without compromising quality.
- Identify production issues, bottlenecks, and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Troubleshoot production processes to resolve production, quality, and regulatory compliance issues.
- Drive product innovation and support new product launches and seasonal
items.
- Support audits, inspections, and certification requirements when
required.
- Ensure adherence to food safety and workplace safety standards (SFA, HACCP and other
relevant regulatory standards)
- Report production performance, risks, and improvement plans to
management.
Job Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Culinary Arts/ Pastry or related field preferred
- Minimum 5-8 years of professional baking experience or experience in food manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge in production of breads, pastries, cakes and specialty bakery products.
- Data-driven mindset with strong analytical and project management capabilities.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- High level of integrity and accountability.
