The Packing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the packing department, ensuring all products are packed and shipped accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervision & Leadership:Manage, train, and motivate a team of packing associates.Schedule and assign daily tasks, ensuring adequate coverage and optimal productivity.Conduct performance evaluations and administer disciplinary action as needed.
- Operational Management:Oversee the entire packing process, from product staging to final shipment, ensuring quality control and accuracy in every order.Develop, implement, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for packing, labeling, and shipping.Monitor and manage packing material inventory, initiating requisitions to prevent shortages.Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues, such as equipment malfunctions or delays.
- Safety & Compliance:Ensure all team members strictly adhere to company safety policies and OSHA regulations.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.Conduct regular safety inspections and training sessions.
- Administration & Reporting:Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as packing speed, accuracy, and labor efficiency.Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory levels, and labor hours.Communicate production goals, deadlines, and performance feedback to the team.
Qualifications
- Experience:Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a warehouse, production, or distribution center environment.Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a supervisory or team lead role, preferably in a packing or shipping department.
- Skills:Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills (verbal and written).
