Job Summary
Manage and lead the design, planning, and construction functions of construction projects, driving timely delivery and compliance across Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning activities in Singapore and overseas.
Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and implementation of detailed project schedules for Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning activities across all disciplines
- Coordinate daily site progress by collaborating with discipline supervisors, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure adherence to project timelines and quality standards
- Conduct pre-qualification and bid evaluations to select qualified consultants and contractors aligned with project requirements
- Liaise with regulatory agencies to ensure full compliance with legal and industry standards throughout project execution
- Maintain and update project schedules, analyze manpower and equipment deployment, and evaluate progress to identify and mitigate risks
- Collaborate with Contract Manager, Quantity Surveyors, and Accounting Department to manage contractual claims, obligations, and variation orders effectively
- Engage directly with on-site contractors in diverse construction environments to resolve issues and ensure smooth operations
- Sequence construction activities including site staging, utilization planning, and contract interface management to optimize workflow and minimize risks
- Prepare clear, concise reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals to communicate project status and decisions to stakeholders
- Present project information effectively and respond to inquiries from managers, contractors, clients, and other stakeholders
- Utilize Microsoft software tools to manage project documentation and communication
Required competencies and certifications
- Degree in Landscape Architecture, Building, or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years of experience managing design and construction projects, preferably in Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) projects, overseeing contractor performance and ensuring technical completeness of designs and installations to industry standards
- Familiarity with industry standards and codes relevant to construction projects
- Knowledge of workplace safety and health practices applicable in Singapore
- Ability to travel frequently overseas and work at remote construction sites
