Safety Officer

Job Description

• Daily review of all PTWs, before site work commencement
• Conducting of site inspections
• Monitor the enforcement and compliance of the site safety rules, safe work procedures and WSH act and its subsidiary legislation
• Comply and execute procedures relating to the Company’s QEHS management system
• Review all safety documentations on site
• Intervene any unsafe act or activity on site
• Assist in incident investigation to determine root causes and corrective and preventive actions
• Assisting in monthly internal and external training plan for employees
• Assist in weekly TBM and monthly safety awareness / occupational health program
• Coordinate/liaise with relevant stakeholders on WSH matters
• To be responsible for any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the company
• Manage the safety budget effectively, ensuring that resources are allocated appropriately for safety equipment, training, and initiatives.
• Establish comprehensive emergency response procedures and plans, ensuring swift and effective responses to incidents.
• Formulate, implement and report on the safety training plan and safety education program
• Monitor changes in local regulations regarding safety, health and environment and make recommendations to improve on Lih Ming Safety Management System
• Maintaining the company's ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 (Integrated Quality, Environmental & Health Systems) & BizSAFE Level Star Status compliance and documentations
• Preparation of all EHS related documentations for contract tenders and contract safety pre-qualifications
• Keeping records of EHS incidents reports and submission of MOM I-report when required

Requirement

• Safety-related diploma or degree
• Registered as a Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO) with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) for at least 2 years. Candidates with ECO & ECMO licenses will have an added advantage
• At least 2 years experience as WSHO in the construction industry. A candidate who possesses work experience in SP Group projects will have an added advantage
• Experienced in ISO-related documentation and audits
• Preferably with own transportation
