School Counsellor

SMMIS is hiring a part-time School Counsellor for 1 day per week.

Main Responsibilities:

• Providing a high-quality counselling service to students experience a wide range of emotional issues.
• Providing support, guidance and advice to parents, carers and the school.
• Contributing to the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare and personal care of children and young people.
• Responsible for the confidential counselling services to students as needed.
• Promote a caring and supportive environment where such concerns may be explored.
• Liaise with school staff and other professionals as appropriate to ensure the effective operation of the counselling service.
• Maintain appropriate records and to keep these secure.
• Maintain a high level of knowledge and awareness of the changes and developments in the fields of counselling and education.
• Arrange and deliver relevant training for staff as and when needs are identified.

Job requirements:

• Graduate qualification in counselling, counselling psychology or clinical psychology.
• Preferably a registered counsellor with the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC) or a registered psychologist with the Singapore Psychological Society (SPS).
• At least 5 years or more of professional counselling experience.
• Experience of working in the International School system in Singapore would be an advantage.
