Play & Unite @ Canberra Plaza Participants Showcase Canvas Paintings
Canberra Plaza has shared another look at the creative works from Play & Unite @ Canberra Plaza, a weekend event where participants each painted their own canvas. The finished pieces span animal characters and abstract compositions, and the mall has been posting them on its Facebook page.
The featured canvas depicts an orange cat set against green vertical brushstrokes suggesting grass or foliage, painted in a bold, expressive style.
Yellow Giraffe Painting
Another participant painted a yellow giraffe with dark brown spots and ossicones, topped by green leaves. The textured, expressive brushwork points to finger or brush paint layered onto the white canvas.
Abstract Impasto Artwork
One participant worked in a heavier medium, producing an abstract oil painting with thick impasto brushwork. The palette mixes blues, greens and yellows with dark purple and black splotches for a layered effect.
Bold Abstract Canvas
A second abstract piece relies on bold brushstrokes of yellow, green, black, gray and white. The sweeping strokes create strong contrast between light and dark tones across the canvas.
Fox Character Painting
The final canvas features a stylized fox-like creature with orange fur, a white muzzle and chest, and black markings around the eyes and mouth. A green leaf detail on its head adds a playful touch.
Canberra Plaza thanked everyone who joined the session for putting their own spin on their canvases and making the weekend a colourful one.
