I recently purchased a hash brown with maple syrup at the Canberra Plaza outlet. When I requested a little more syrup, I was informed that there would be a $1.20 charge for the extra portion. While I understand the need to charge for additional items, I was surprised by the amount requested, especially considering that the extra syrup portion would have been excessive for the small hash brown. It felt more like an upsell than a thoughtful suggestion, and did not reflect good customer service or value. I believe staff should be more mindful of proportion and context when offering add-ons to customers, and ideally suggest options that are appropriate and reasonable. I hope this feedback will be taken constructively to improve future service. To be honest, I hardly saw any maple syrup on my hash brown to begin with.
