From 26 October 2026, FairPrice cashiers will hand out specially designed Deepavali festive packets if you spend at least $30 in one receipt and ask for them. FairPrice Canberra Plaza Super at #B1-03/04 is an in-store Super with staffed checkouts. This is a cashier redemption, not a self-checkout printout and not an app voucher.
The official event page went up on 23 October 2026. It does not print an end date. The line that matters is while stocks last, limited to two packs per transaction. Deepavali 2026 falls in this window. If you want packets for ang bao-style giving, do the grocery shop from 26 October and speak to the cashier before you tap out.
Ask the cashier. Do not wait for the machine to offer them
FairPrice's own wording is "you can request from our cashier". Request is the verb. Self-checkout will not prompt you. The $1 snack wall and Scan&Go kiosks at this store's mouth are busy on Saturday. If you want packets, join a staffed lane. Two packs per transaction is the cap. A $60 receipt does not double that cap. It is still two packs.
The illustrated packet graphics on the FairPrice page are 2022-era artwork still used as the 2026 header. They are not a photo of this year's print run, and they are not a photo of this basement. Go to #B1-03/04 and ask. If the store has run out, the page already said while stocks last.
What does not count toward $30
The minimum spend excludes statutory items: 4D, Singapore Sweep, TOTO, FairPrice Gift Vouchers and Gift Cards. It also excludes cigarettes, infant milk powder for 0 to 12 months, and prescription and pharmacy-only medicines. Singapore Pools sits inside this FairPrice. A TOTO ticket will not help you over $30. Neither will a tin of infant formula from the baby aisle.
Build the $30 on groceries. Rice, vegetables, frozen chicken, eggs, oil. The Price Cut Super campaign and the $4.95 egg tray are running in the same store through December. That is a separate mechanic. Packets are a Deepavali giveaway on a $30 grocery receipt. Do not assume the cashier will remind you. Say you want the festive packets when the total clears $30.
Do it on the Saturday grocery run
This Super opens 8am to 11pm. Canberra NS12 feeds Level 2, then you come down to the basement. The checkout mouth faces the mall corridor, with a queue that already includes prams and mobility chairs on a normal weekend. If you are collecting packets, shop on a weekday morning if you can. Thursday is also CHAS Blue 6% day through 1 January 2027. Friday is CHAS Orange.
Do Qoo in this mall has its own Deepavali sweets story on this site from an earlier round. That is a different tenant. These packets are FairPrice's cashier giveaway, not a dessert box. One receipt, $30 of eligible spend, two packs, ask.
