"Gym prices have doubled in two years, yet the standard of service and equipment remains unchanged, if not worse.
The gym rules are inflexible and do not allow holds, even with official letters from doctors. I've spoken to many people who have faced similar issues.
Ventilation is poor; only half of the fans actually work, resulting in stale air during peak hours. The switch is on, but the fans don't work (see pics).
Power racks are placed too close together, posing a safety hazard. Gym etiquette and rules are not properly and timely enforced to ensure a safe and conducive gym environment.
Management also pushes for sales with no intention of retaining existing customers. In the past, they offered an extra month for every successful referral. Then, they increased membership prices and downgraded the gift to a shaker bottle or towel. Now, the prices have almost doubled since 2021, and they only offer a free towel to new sign-ups."
The equipment here is the best I've used in my entire gym journey. Jun Keat, as a trainer, has helped me a lot with my training knowledge and even improved some of my weaker body parts. He's also helped me increase my strength in certain exercises. Overall, he's a great coach, and I'm very thankful to be working with him.
"I've been going to this gym since 2021, and the quality has dropped tremendously. The quality and experience don't justify paying almost $100 a month; I don't see myself renewing.
Free weights are left lying around, and even when they are put back on the rack, they're often not in the proper order. Random padding from equipment can go missing, leaving just the skeleton in the workout area without proper signage. Rubber knobs for the cable machines have been missing for a year, and we're all touching the steel when adjusting the cables. Last year, the clock was out of battery and remained unchanged for six months.
The staff doesn't bother to walk the floor or greet members. Not walking the floor means they don't know how messy the gym gets throughout the day. The towels used for wiping equipment have been the same for many months, and I'm not sure if they're even washed. There's no effort to forge relationships with members, unlike in the past.
It has come to the point where regular gym-goers have to remind others to put their weights back.
I had surgery last year and wasn't allowed to pause my membership, even with a doctor's note. I had to write a complaint email to HQ to appeal my case.
Honestly, it’s sad to see what the gym has become."
"I've been training with Personal Trainer De Jun, DJ, and have seen progress in every session. DJ’s motivation is unmatched—every session feels like a push to do more and be better. What really stands out, though, is his focus on form. He ensures every move is done correctly, which has helped me avoid injury, alleviate my body pain, and maximize my results. If you’re looking for someone who can help you stay motivated while focusing on the fundamentals, Personal Trainer DJ is the trainer for you!"
The gym is large and well-maintained. JK is an amazing personal trainer—knowledgeable, motivating, and truly invested in helping you reach your goals. Every session is effective and very challenging, while still taking your limitations into account.
"Absolutely in love with Gymmboxx, especially this outlet!
It's super clean and smells nice! The equipment is well-maintained, and if there are any issues, they're fixed ASAP.
The staff are always collecting feedback from their members to constantly improve. They recently added some good machines, like the hip thrust and pendulum squat.
The best part is the warm, fuzzy feeling when you step into the gym. All the staff are super friendly, especially Kak Jul, who is always smiling!
Kudos to all! 🔥"
"This gym is conveniently located within walking distance from home. Personal trainer JK is very dedicated, knowledgeable, focused, and professional. He is also polite, patient, and highly aware of his clients' well-being during sessions."
Dim Sum brunch.
The food is hit or miss. The Ngo Hiang is really good and has a generous serving. The rest of the dim sum is alright. The carrot cake is fragrant. The seafood crispy noodles come with a lot of fish and deshelled prawns! Instead of dim sum, I think going for Teochew food might be better.
Service is excellent and attentive.
The environment is clean, but the air conditioning is very strong.
On February 6, a group of eight colleagues gathered at Chin Lee Tea & Dine for a festive Lou Hei lunch to celebrate Chinese New Year. As a Teochew restaurant, it emphasizes a healthier style of cooking. We ordered a variety of dishes, including a uniquely prepared Lou Hei. Notably, the meal left no aftertaste of thirst, which was a pleasant surprise. I was especially pleased to enjoy the yam paste dessert with a vegan option, meaning it was served without pork lard.
The service was excellent, with attentive servers who promptly replaced our plates and ensured our tea was constantly refilled. Overall, we had a sumptuous and satisfying meal, well worth the price. No regrets!
