We visit a couple times a week, and food prices are good. The only problem is their fruit always seems to be less than fresh. Multiple times, we had to return one or more pieces because the person packing the fruit is always trying to hide one bad or fungus-covered fruit at the bottom or under the tickets/labels. We really wish they would stop trying to sell bad fruit, as we no longer buy from them and recommend always taking the train to Northpoint Cold Storage for your fruit needs. NTUC's vegetables are perfectly acceptable, just not their fruit.

My experience was bad. I couldn't find any of the products I wanted, so I approached a lady in her 40s-50s. I asked her nicely about the product, showing her a picture. She did not know what product it was. I replied that it was a type of biscuit. And she replied, "Oh, I don't know leh. I'm not from the biscuit section." This was said in Chinese. Which was kind of rude to me. Doesn't FairPrice have scanners or computers to check whether a product is available, or do staff usually go to the section and check for us?! All she did was say, "Oh, I don't know leh." I had to search around the store to see if anyone could help, but there wasn't anyone available. I was so disappointed! After about 10-15 minutes, I found another staff member. She was in her 20s. I didn't see her name clearly, but it was Ms. Lee (____) Lin. Sorry if I sounded rude. Anyway, she helped me with my problem. She went to two sections for two different products. Even though, in the end, she couldn't find it, her approach was vastly different from the older lady's. She also recommended that I go to a bigger store. Please praise her and allow her to serve as an example for other staff members working there, so that customers like me can have a better experience.

I was standing and waiting in the line that a marked arrow directed for the next cashier. The marked arrow was directing confusedly and made people confused. When it was my turn, the cashier (Ms. Vineela Dasari) stopped me and told me I was coming wrongly from the queue and tried to assist another customer. In fact, I was faster than the customer, thus the customer did not go to the cashier and voluntarily gave way for me before the cashier stopped me. However, the cashier complained to me about my coming. Then, I told her that the marked arrow directed the line to the cashier. Suddenly, she ignored me and did not respond at all. Thus, I asked her to call the manager. Then, she still did not respond, so I kept asking the cashier, "Excuse me," 4 times. Then, she pointed above to the sign which indicated "calling the manager." I was actually very upset due to her impolite attitude (her attempt to ignore me). Finally, when the manager came to me, they promised to change the marked arrow correctly. Please provide Ms. Vineela Dasari with some coaching sessions to not ignore customer feedback and concerns.

The cashier snatched the cash as I paid her. Not surprisingly, there was no word of thanks either. As a large and established organisation like NTUC, the leader in employee matters, I think NTUC should invest in training its staff to be helpful and polite. Hopefully, NTUC will not just focus on profit-making, but on giving good service even as it has prospered.

A smaller than usual NTUC Supermarket compared to other places, it is located in the basement of Canberra Plaza. Grocery selection is limited, and, from several visits, the fruits and vegetables are also usually not fresh. I'm not sure if this is due in part to supply chain issues stemming from the global coronavirus pandemic.

A small supermarket, but most basic household essentials are available here. Choices are perhaps limited.

Well, the cashier, an aged lady, was very rude and showed no courtesy at all. She talked so aggressively, and when I said thank you, there was no reply, no smile. I think NTUC staff should be more friendly to seniors and customers. This Yishun MRT NTUC: next time I won't go there anymore unless I have urgent things to buy. Thumbs Down.

Fairprice ah Fairprice, you still really don't want to upgrade your bag? Five cents for this quality is very expensive. Please upgrade to a better one.

The watermelon wasn't fresh. I bought it on the way home, and when I tried to eat it, I noticed it had already turned sour, so I had to discard the whole piece.

Walked out, forgetting to take my receipt and bonus stamp receipt. I walked back in to retrieve it. No other customers were at the checkout I used earlier, but a staff member had just walked away from it and was putting a receipt in the wastepaper basket. I “dug” it out (there were only two other receipts in the barely used basket). The staff member said I was lucky she hadn't torn it up. The issue wasn’t whether it was torn or not; the issue was, where was the bonus stamp receipt that was taken from the bottom of the purchase receipt? Another experience over the past year: I was queuing for the checkout counter, with one other person ahead of me. It was 10:28 PM, but seven of the eight checkout counters were already closed. As I was approaching the last one after the previous person was done, the staff member said it was already closed, and that I should go to the cashier counter, which had a queue building up. They always closed the self-checkout counters at 10:30 PM, and by that time only one cashier counter was still open. Of course I just put the item back and walked off, as it wasn’t the first time I had a bad experience there. Two other experiences involved being told the NETS machine was already closed at the cashier counter, and another time, that my card wasn't working, although I use it every day and had used it at the same NTUC the day before. Another staff member beside her nodded as well, confirming it wasn’t working. It was working, by the way, and I know how a POS and NETS machine work. All three previous experiences regarding the POS/NETS being closed were with the same staff member, and it was all around 10:30 PM. What coincidences! There was also a time when I was looking at the HALAL poultry section and found that there was PORK meat placed right there. I was there around 10:40 PM at the time, and most of the chilled products' lights were switched off or had blinds covering them. This just showed how the staff members switched the lights off and rolled the blinds down without checking. Of course, there were times when I had a good experience. When I left a bag of groceries behind and was walking back, a staff member actually went out with my bag to give it to me at the escalator.
